A Little Information About DID

Splitting: When a new headmate is formed.
Fronting: The act of taking control of the body
Dormancy: Almost like a coma, it can last for days-years.
Integration: When two or more beings merge together permanently or for a long period of time.
Blurring: When two or more beings merge together for a short period of time while fronting.
Innermind: Where headmates go when they aren't fronting.
Outerworld: The 'physical' world.
Dissociation: Sometimes seen as zoning out or fogging out, it's when focus is lost and thinking becomes hard.
Headmate: Another being who shares the body with you.
Alter: Another word for headmate. Not always appreciated.
Singlet: A word for someone who is not part of a DID/OSDD system. Not always appreciated.
System: All the beings in one body.
Gatekeeper: A headmate who helps with switching and other external and internal issues.
Fictive: A headmate who has a source from fiction.
Factive: A headmate who has a source that is not from fiction.
Introject: A headmate who has a source, say from a book or a close friend.
Littles: Headmates who are children.
Age sliders: Headmates who individually slide up and down the age spectrum.
The Body: A commonly used term for the body in the outerworld.
